I have had this discussion many times before, and I still say that Snape is not evil. In fact, I even once ran a campaign on another forum called C.O.S.I.N.E., which stands for Come On, Snape Is Not Evil. ;D
Therefore, let me know if you back me up, or provide arguments to the contrary of my belief in Snape so that I can defend him. ;D

I personally havent made up my mind yet. The things that are mostly going through my head are; 1. He had to do that in order to fullfill te unbreakable vow that he had made with Narcissia. 2. Maybe Dumbledoor WANTED to be killed for one reason or another. 3. Snape has saved Harry's ass on more then one accashion. and just because he claims it was all under Voldemorts bidding doesn't mean anything, he might be undercover for the order. There is so much to Snape that no-one cares to pay much attenchion to, but on the otherhand. he didnt fight for the orders side when all hell broke loose at the castle. and he didnt make any effort to stop any of the Death eaters at all. but like i said, there might be some kind of plan underway that he has with the order, but then again, why did the order members think it strange for him to do what he did? Maybe it was souly with Dumbledoor, ya never know. for the most part, i think hes good, but there are the things that could possibly be counted against him.

Of course he didn't make any effort to stop the Death Eaters at the castle; that would blow his cover, and that would have made his killing Dumbledore pointless. Snape is a more complex character than most of us realize; anyone could be wrong about their assumptions about him. I think that he is a perfect demonstration of the fact that no one is all good or all bad, and perhaps thats just how Jo wanted to use him. But I see more evidence of his heart being with the "good guys" than with the "bad guys". Hey, you never know with Rowling.

I refuse to believe that Snape is evil. Rowling will get a very strongly worded letter with a bomb inside if he is.

And we'll include testimonies from Dumbledore's spirit saying why, once and for all, he trusts Snape so much, and it will be a very viable reason which proves that Snape is definitely not evil. ;D
